Bratt's Sailor on Liberty - on the left
"Bratt's Sailor on Liberty"
(sitting on the left)

When Gretchen was 2 years old, we did what almost every Boxer owner does, we added another. This time we thought it would be nice to have a male, and possibly show him in conformation. Skip decided he would like to try it, so we found a flashy fawn male in Waseca, Minnesota. His pedigree went back to Coach Cal Stoll’s line, and the Salgray line. Skip took handling lessons from Bev Capstick, who soon after went on to become a judge and award a future dog of ours several group placements and a most coveted “Best in Show”. Skip put every point on Sailor, but they were unable to obtain that second major win, although got three major reserves trying, and since Sailor absolutely hated entering the ring, we decided to retire him.

Sailor lived to be 11 years old.
